The forward turns 40 on October 4, having missed Euro 2020 last summer due to a knee injury.

Ibrahimovic’s knee has now healed but has only made a brief appearance for the Rossoneri this season. Before the latest injury to the Achilles tendon.

Sweden, however, have recalled Ibrahimovic for their World Cup qualifiers against Kosovo and Greece.

Those games will be played on October 9 and 12 respectively, with Ibrahimovic already celebrating his 40th birthday.

“I decided to summon him because I thought he could be involved. And help the team,” said the Swedish national team head coach Yanne Andersson.

“He is currently in treatment for his injury. But there is progress every day and we will see him next week.”

For Ibrahimovic, he scored 62 goals in 118 appearances for Sweden.
